A BARMAID'S SUICIDE

ARMIDALE, Monday.

A young woman named Marie Prater, em-
ployed as a barmaid at Tattersall's Hotel,
committed suicide late last night by taking a
dose of vermln-klller. An inquest was held to-
day, a verdict of suicide being returned. De-
ceased was about 23 years of age, and had
been about 12 months employed in the hotel.

POISONED BY "ROUGH-ON-RATS"    

Sydney, September 3.

A young woman, May Prater, employed  
as barmaid at Tattersall's Hotel, Armidale  
took "rough-on-rats'' on Saturday, and
died in 15 minutes. The girl told a com-
panion what she had done, and asked her
to send for a doctor.
