Coast to Tablelands main road

TAREE, Thursday. The Manning Shire Council has decided to urge that the main road to connect the coast and tablelands should be from Taree, via Bobin and Elands, to meet old Port Mac- quarie-Walcha road at Tobin's Camp, near 65-mile peg. The Government is being asked not to commit itself to any expenditure on any connecting road until the route suggested has been examined. This is a rival route to the proposed Port Macquarie-Walcha-road, which Dr. Earle Page recently travelled over to inspect.
