INVERELL, Monday.
The wine vintage is in full swing in most vineyards around the district. Owing to the dry season the crops are somewhat light, but the must is of excellent quality.
GLEN INNES, Monday.
Several inches of rain are badly needed, and unless it falls soon the outlook for the coming winter will be very serious. There is a fair amount of grass, but it is dry, and failing early rain all classes of stock, particularly cattle and horses, will suffer severely.
