GLEN INNES, Sunday.
A serious outbreak of diphtheria has occurred amongst the children attending the Public school at Red Range near Glen Innes. A doctor examined tin children in the school room and found two of their number suffering from the disease. The Education Department has refused a request to close the school. At a meeting of the Severn Shire Council to-day, it was decided to request the department to close the school forthwith also to send a copy of the doctor’s report concerning the outbreak.
