TAMWORTH ELECTRICAL UNDERTAKING
TAMWORTH, Monday.
The official switching-on of electric current was performed at Kootingal, 15 miles from Tamworth, by Mr. J. Dwyer, in the presence of the Mayor of Tamworth and shire councillors on Saturday afternoon. The power is supplied from Tamworth municipal electricity undertaking, and the extension to Kootingal cost £6010. The Mayor of Tamworth (Alderman E. A. Briley) said that the sales of current, in terms of units, in 1900 amounted to 75,530, in 1919 594,770, and in 1929 2,790,341.
