Glen Innes – Inverell omnibuses

Wednesday 15 May 1907, The Sydney Morning Herald

The two new petrol-driven “Dennis” omnibuses, which Messrs. Heaney and Broadbent, of the B. and K. Motor Garage, Circular Quay, Sydney, landed on Saturday for Dr. Vivers, were sent away yesterday afternoon by train to Glen Innes. The vehicles, which made several interesting trials prior to leaving Sydney, were objects of considerable attention. Each proved itself capable of surmounting gradients of 1 in 6. It is anticipated that they will be quite capable of easily negotiating the double daily journey between Glen Innes and Inverell even under the most adverse conditions. Messrs. Keaney and Broadbent, who were responsible for putting the cars in running order, in addition to unpacking them in record time, say that they have never taken delivery of finer or more powerful vehicles.
