Liberal and Reform Party organises

HILLGROVE, Monday.
The danger of a split in the votes for the Armidale electorate owing to the presence of several candidates being in the field in the Liberal interest has compelled supporters of the Liberal and Reform party to organise for the purpose of selecting a candidate to carry the party’s flag. A strong branch has been already formed in Armidale, and other branches are in process of formation at Hillgrove, Walcha, and Uralla. The candidates’ names prominently mentioned in this interest are the sitting member, Mr. S. J. Kearney, Messrs. E. Lonsdale, and Charles Wilson, both of the latter having previously represented the electorate. The contest is exciting keen interest locally.
