Monday 10 January 1910, The Advertiser (Adelaide)
Sydney, January 9.
A peculiar occurrence has been reported at Armidale. It appears that two small boys, had a grievance against a man named Davies, one of the local sanitary employes. The boys waited till Davies was leaving his home after dinner and then opened fire on him with catapults. Davies was completely taken by surprise and was unable to escape the volley discharged at him. One of the missiles struck him in the eye and another on the chin. His eye was seriously injured.
