Lime find
Thursday 8 March 1877, The Maitland Mercury & Hunter River General Advertiser
We have inspected a fine and large specimen of pure lime found by Mr. Crawford at the Cane(?) Yards, Cunderang Creek, no great distance washed out of the adjacent mountain. Should his specimen indicate deposits of lime-stone in the vicinity of its discovery, they would be of the greatest importance to the district, which hitherto has been supposed to be without this valuable mineral in a form that would pay for working.
