SUSPECTED MURDER.
The body of an old man, named James McCormack, a free selector, was found in a gunyah six miles from here on Wednesday. It presented a fearful sight almost all the ribs smashed, and marks of strangulation. Suspicion at once fell on Jeremiah Mehan, another free selector, whose son McCormack had prosecuted for larceny. Mehan is in custody. The police expect to make further arrests to-day.
